An alleged child exploitation suspect in Arizona fainted in court after learning he could face up to a century in prison. The dramatic incident occurred as Joshua James Lozano, 42, appeared in a Phoenix courtroom on Monday.

Glendale police had been investigating Lozano for alleged child exploitation, prompted by a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Investigators traced explicit content accessed through Lozano's internet service provider directly to him. He was arrested last Thursday.

During the court hearing, a Maricopa County prosecutor requested $150,000 bail, stating Lozano faced 10 felony counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. Each count carries a potential 10-year sentence, to be served consecutively, leading to a possible total of 100 years in prison.

Upon hearing this, Lozano collapsed. The proceedings were paused for medical personnel to attend to him. He was subsequently returned to police custody.

Lozano's attorney argued for bail to be reduced to $50,000, citing his client's local ties. The judge ultimately set Lozano's bond at $150,000.

If Lozano posts bail, he is prohibited from contacting minors, possessing a smartphone, or accessing the internet. He will also be required to wear an electronic monitor. Lozano is scheduled to return to court on September 21.
