Arizona Man Charged with Murdering Pregnant Wife, Claims Electrocution Torture
Joseph Clark faces two murder charges after police discovered his wife, Noelle Clark, dead in their home.
An Arizona man has been charged with two counts of murder for allegedly killing his pregnant wife and her unborn child. Joseph Clark, 49, is accused of murdering Noelle Clark, 39, inside their Vail home on Friday night.
Clark called 911 and told dispatchers that he had killed his wife, claiming she had "electrically tortured him," according to a probable cause statement. Police responded to the scene and found Noelle Clark's body in the garage, covered by a blanket. Authorities reported that she had suffered blunt force trauma to the head.
During a sweep of the residence, officers discovered two young children, aged two and five, unharmed. In a children's bedroom, investigators found a bloody kitchen knife and a pool of blood. The door to the bedroom had nails lodged in it, and drag marks were observed across the staircase and leading to the garage where Noelle Clark was found.
An examination of the victim revealed she was in her second or third trimester of pregnancy. Tire marks were visible on her arms, and bloody tire marks on the garage floor suggested her arms may have been run over by a vehicle. A deep laceration was also found on her chest, and two marks on her back appeared to match a belt discovered in the bedroom.
When questioned by police, Clark made statements about having been "tortured shocked over a couple of years," adding that his eyes were "cracked" and his teeth had "popped out" as a result. Officers noted no visible injuries on Clark.
Clark's brother told investigators that Joseph had contacted him asking for help, but he found the message unusual. Upon arriving at the residence later, he encountered police already present. He confirmed that Noelle Clark was pregnant and nearing her due date.
Joseph Clark was booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Complex on October 10, 2026. He is being held on a $1,000,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court again later this month. The Pima County Sheriff's Department stated that the two children are in the custody of the Arizona Department of Child Safety and that the investigation is ongoing.
