A man from Arizona was arrested in Colorado after allegedly breaking into a Union Pacific locomotive and riding naked on top of the moving train. The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as Daniel Ray Ballance, of Quartzsite, Arizona.

Deputies took Ballance into custody on Thursday. Authorities allege he broke a window to gain entry into the locomotive before climbing onto the roof while the train was in motion. Witnesses reported seeing Ballance atop the locomotive before his arrest. He faces felony and misdemeanor charges in connection with the incident.

The sheriff's office shared Ballance's mugshot on Facebook, adding a humorous note about the arrest. "For those of you who had the unfortunate experience of seeing this gentleman surfing naked on top of a moving locomotive yesterday, I want you to know that he was arrested on felony and misdemeanor charges," the post stated.

Ballance reportedly told deputies that he enjoyed "vodka, beer and playing the Banjo." The sheriff's office quipped that he was being separated from those activities and was instead spending time in jail, where he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Court records detailing the specific charges were not immediately available. It has not been publicly disclosed what may have prompted the incident or if anyone aboard the locomotive sustained injuries.
