Arizona Man Accused of Hiring Acquaintance to Sexually Assault Fiancée
The woman fought off her alleged attacker, who claimed the assault was a 'role-play scenario' orchestrated by her fiancé.
An Arizona man has been arrested on suspicion of recruiting another individual to sexually assault his fiancée, according to authorities. The woman reportedly fought off her attacker, who claimed the assault was part of a role-play scenario arranged by her fiancé.
Zarian Dyer, 23, was arrested Thursday, facing charges including aggravated assault, sexual abuse, attempted sexual assault, kidnapping, and conspiracy. The alleged attacker, Adrian Ayala, 20, was arrested the following day.
According to the Buckeye Police Department, the incident occurred on October 16 in Buckeye, Arizona, when Ayala appeared at the fiancée's home while she was alone with her two young children. Court documents obtained by the Merced Sun-Star state that the woman told investigators she encountered Ayala, who initially asked to use her bathroom.
Ayala allegedly forced his way into the home, choked the woman, and attempted to undress her before groping her. The struggle continued into the front yard and driveway, where the woman fought back. Security footage captured the confrontation, showing the woman pushing Ayala away and slapping him. During the struggle, Ayala reportedly told the woman, “Your boyfriend told me you’d be into this.”
The woman pursued Ayala as he fled the scene before police arrived. Investigators later uncovered communications between Dyer and Ayala detailing the planned attack, leading to Dyer's arrest.
Ayala, who faces charges including kidnapping, sexual abuse, burglary, and aggravated assault, claimed during his initial court appearance that Dyer brought him to the home for a role-play scenario and that he believed the woman consented. His trial is scheduled for April 1, 2027. The motive behind Dyer's alleged actions remains unclear.
