Arizona Congressional Candidate's Campaign Account Follows Explicit and Witchcraft Content Online

The official campaign Instagram account for Arizona Democratic congressional hopeful JoAnna Mendoza has followed accounts featuring sexually explicit content, OnlyFans models, and witchcraft, according to a review of the account's activity. Mendoza is challenging Republican incumbent Juan Ciscomani in Arizona's 6th Congressional District, a race considered a toss-up by The Cook Political Report.

Screenshots show Mendoza's campaign account had followed over a dozen accounts that frequently share sexually explicit material. Among these was the account of Brianna Westbrook, a transgender socialist activist who previously ran for federal office in Arizona and served as a surrogate for Senator Bernie Sanders. Westbrook's Instagram posts have included BDSM gear and sex toys. Mendoza's campaign has since unfollowed Westbrook's account.

Mendoza's campaign account also followed OnlyFans users Carriejune Anne Bowlby and Shanin Blake, who advertised "an uncensored look into my life." As of this report, the campaign continues to follow Blake. Another account still followed by the campaign, Nina Desoo, maintains an 18+ Patreon account featuring adult imagery.

Mendoza's campaign account also previously followed several accounts related to witchcraft and esoteric practices. These included "Instant Witch," which offers beginner witch tips; "Mystic Primrose," described as a school for witches; "Eden Energy Medicine," focusing on energy colors; and "Crystal Spirit Readings," which provides psychic readings. The account is still following "Sarah Elkhaldy – The Alchemist," who identifies as a leader in esoteric arts and an instructor.

Mendoza, a Marine veteran, previously served as the executive director of the Arizona Center for Economic Progress and has worked in political consulting. Her campaign did not respond to repeated requests for comment regarding the social media activity. The campaign has reportedly begun unfollowing some of the explicit accounts as the Post investigated and secured screenshots, with other accounts being unfollowed prior to the campaign being contacted.
