Arizona Coach Buys Fans Tequila, Donates Tickets in Generous Weekend

Arizona football coach Brent Brennan demonstrated his appreciation for fan support in a substantial way over the weekend, purchasing $2,000 worth of tequila for fans at a local bar and donating 1,000 game tickets to community youth.

Following the Wildcats' 39-3 homecoming victory over Iowa State, Brennan made a stop at "Dirtbag's," a popular bar near the University of Arizona campus where fans often gather after games. He bought 300 tequila shots and covered the $2,000 tab, a gesture he described as an investment in the fans.

"For me, I’ve said it since I got here and it’s been a thing for me the whole time I’ve been a head coach, I think it’s important that if you want people to show up for you, you gotta show up for them," Brennan said. "It was an easy way for me to pop in there, with all of our alumni in town for homecoming, the excitement from the game, to go in there, and say hello and get out."

Brennan noted that his bar visit lasted only five minutes but called it an "expensive five minutes" that allowed him to express his gratitude.

In addition to the post-game celebration, Brennan also arranged for 1,000 tickets to be distributed to local children involved with organizations such as the Boys & Girls Club and the Ronald McDonald House, as well as local football leagues. He stated his intention was to make the game accessible to more people and engage with groups important to him.

"So, as you know, we just want to make it available to as many people as we can. And I thought this was a really easy way to engage some really some groups that are important to me, but also give some people a chance to see this football team play," Brennan said.

The coach's actions have been met with positive reactions in the Tucson community, highlighting a notable instance of a coach giving back to both the team's supporters and local youth.
