The NFL has indefinitely suspended Arizona Cardinals director of college scouting Ryan Gold for violating the league's gambling policy. The league announced Friday that an investigation found Gold shared confidential, non-public information about the team's 2026 NFL Draft picks. The NFL stated that the individual who received the information was not named.
In addition to leaking draft information, Gold was also found to have placed parlay bets on NFL and college games. The NFL reiterated its strict gambling policy, which prohibits all personnel from participating in or facilitating sports gambling and from providing non-public information to third parties.
While the league determined that the integrity of any NFL game was not affected by Gold's actions, it emphasized its serious stance on policy violations. The Arizona Cardinals organization confirmed the investigation involved a single employee and expressed full support for the league's decision. "Our focus remains on preparing for the start of training camp next week and the 2026 season," the team said in a statement.
Gold had been with the Cardinals for 13 seasons. Prior to his promotion to director of college scouting in June 2025, he served as assistant director of college scouting for three seasons and as college scouting coordinator for four seasons. In his role as director of college scouting, Gold was responsible for overseeing the department's daily operations, evaluating draft-eligible prospects, managing the college scouting staff, and coordinating pre-draft events.
