Ariana Grande Mourns Death of Beloved Dog Coco

Ariana Grande announced the death of her long-time dog, Coco, on Monday via Instagram. The 33-year-old singer shared a series of photos of the small brown and black pup, which she had owned for nearly 17 years.

"Sweetest, most amazing and most beautiful Coco… I am so proud of you," Grande wrote in a caption to her 362 million followers. "Thank you for your love, and for blessing this planet with your physical presence for over seventeen wonderful years. You make everywhere you go a more beautiful place. I will miss you every day and hold you in my heart always. I love you so, sweet girl."

Grande tagged her boyfriend, Ricky Alvarez, in the post. Alvarez, a choreographer and photographer, re-shared the tribute on his Instagram Stories with a red heart emoji.

The news comes as Grande prepares for the release of her upcoming film "Focker-in-Law," in which she stars alongside Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, and Blythe Danner. The film is scheduled to open in theaters on Thanksgiving Day.

Earlier this year, Grande announced plans to step away from the spotlight following the conclusion of her "Eternal Sunshine Tour." A representative confirmed that the singer intended to take a break from public-facing work after the tour, citing ongoing public scrutiny. The tour concluded on September 1 in London.

Grande released a music video for her song "Petal" in July, which drew attention due to her notably slim appearance. The singer later clarified that her decision to take a break from public appearances had been planned for some time and was not a reaction to negativity.
