Ariana Grande Enjoys LA Downtime Amidst Return to Spotlight for New Movie
The pop star is taking a break from public life after her tour and is set to promote her upcoming film, "Focker-In-Law."
Ariana Grande is currently spending time in Los Angeles with her boyfriend, Ricky Alvarez, enjoying a period of rest away from the public eye. This hiatus follows the conclusion of her "Eternal Sunshine" tour and comes ahead of her planned return to promote her upcoming movie, "Focker-In-Law."
A representative for Grande stated earlier this year that she intended to step back from public appearances after completing her tour. This decision was made in response to ongoing public scrutiny.
Sources close to Grande told Page Six that she is "in an amazing place" and "really happy" during her time in Los Angeles, where Alvarez's family resides. The couple was recently seen attending Universal Studios Hollywood's Halloween Horror Nights on September 24.
Grande, 33, and Alvarez, 35, rekindled their relationship this past summer, a decade after their initial split in 2016. Alvarez, a former professional dancer for Grande, was occasionally present during her tour.
The singer's public break was prompted by fan concerns over her appearance during the tour. In response, she announced her intention to step away from public-facing work. "She looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note, both healthily and happily, and then taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances," a representative told People.
Grande had also withdrawn from other projects, including Ryan Murphy's "American Horror Story" Season 13 and a planned West End revival of Stephen Sondheim's "Sunday in the Park with George." These decisions were attributed to scheduling conflicts and a desire to step away from public scrutiny.
However, Grande is scheduled to return to promote "Focker-In-Law," a film set for release this November. She plays Olivia Jones, the girlfriend of Henry Focker, in the fourth installment of the "Meet the Parents" franchise. The movie also stars Robert DeNiro, Ben Stiller, Blythe Danner, Owen Wilson, Teri Polo, and Beanie Feldstein. The film is slated for release on Thanksgiving weekend.
