Ari Emanuel's New Book Reveals Wedding Brawl Between Larry David and Elon Musk

In his new book, "Roll the Calls," talent agent Ari Emanuel details numerous professional encounters and behind-the-scenes moments from his career. Among the anecdotes are recollections of celebrity interactions, including a physical altercation at his own wedding.

Emanuel recounts that at his 2022 wedding to Sarah Staudinger in St. Tropez, comedian Larry David and Tesla CEO Elon Musk had to be separated. David, who was officiating the ceremony, became involved in a heated political argument with Musk. According to Emanuel's account, David was "right up in Elon’s face" before the dinner commenced, leading to guests intervening.

Emanuel also shares a story from the set of Martin Scorsese's 2006 film "The Departed." He writes about mediating a dispute between Scorsese and then-Warner Bros. executive Alan Horn over a scene that Horn deemed "pornographic." The scene reportedly involved a man placing an object in a woman's mouth during an intimate moment. Emanuel made multiple trips to the film set to resolve the conflict, ultimately convincing Scorsese to remove the scene.

The book also touches on the inspiration for the character Ari Gold in the HBO series "Entourage," which was based on Emanuel himself. He recounts channeling the character's assertive demeanor when pitching the idea of turning the movie "Friday Night Lights" into a television series for his client Peter Berg. When producer Brian Grazer initially rejected the idea, Emanuel adopted a confrontational approach, reportedly telling Grazer, "I’ll show you Ari Gold, bitch!" The series ultimately ran for five seasons.

Emanuel's memoir covers his experiences in the entertainment industry, from managing high-profile clients to navigating complex business deals and celebrity dynamics.
