Apple TV+'s acclaimed sci-fi drama "Silo" returned for its third season on July 3, continuing the narrative of Juliette Nichols, portrayed by Rebecca Ferguson. Season 3 introduces a new layer to the series by venturing into its past, exploring the events that led to the creation of the underground world.
The current season picks up in the aftermath of Season 2, with Juliette returning to Silo 18. Her return follows a period of unrest and rebellion within the silo after she had ventured outside and discovered the existence of other silos. The season aims to address the immediate fallout from these events while also raising new questions about Juliette's situation and the world beyond the silo.
A significant element of "Silo" Season 3 is the introduction of a storyline set centuries before the events of the first two seasons. This "Before Times" narrative focuses on journalist Helen Drew, played by Jessica Henwick, and Congressman Daniel Keene, portrayed by Ashley Zukerman. Their investigation uncovers a conspiracy that is depicted as the catalyst for the catastrophic events leading to the formation of the silos.
This dual timeline approach allows the series to explore its central mystery: the origins of the underground society and the reasons for the world's desolation outside. Viewers will follow Juliette's present-day struggles alongside the historical account of how the silos came to be.
"Silo" Season 3 comprises 10 episodes, mirroring the episode count of its previous seasons. The season premiered on July 3, with new episodes released weekly every Friday. The season finale is scheduled for September 4, maintaining a consistent release schedule for viewers. As of August 14, seven episodes were available, with three remaining.
Returning cast members alongside Rebecca Ferguson include Common, Harriet Walter, Chinaza Uche, Avi Nash, and Alexandria Riley. The "Before Times" storyline introduces Ashley Zukerman and Jessica Henwick, while Colin Hanks is set to recur, and Steve Zahn returns to the series.
