Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) responded to former President Donald Trump’s recent remarks about data centers by suggesting one be built at his Mar-a-Lago residence.

Trump posted on Truth Social that communities opposing data centers risk becoming “backwards and poor.” He argued that a lack of these facilities would hinder success, lower taxes, and reduce job creation, stating that such opposition benefits China. “If we kill the Golden Goose, you will only have yourselves to blame,” he wrote.

In a statement to the MeidasTouch Network’s Pablo Manríquez, Ocasio-Cortez proposed placing a data center, which she noted are energy- and water-intensive, at Mar-a-Lago. “How about we put one in Mar-a-Lago?” she said. “Let’s put a data center up in Mar-a-Lago and we’ll see how backwards and poor he is in response to that.”
