Anya Taylor-Joy Embraces Dark Role as Killer in Netflix Thriller
The "Queen's Gambit" star transforms her look to play a vengeful heiress in "How To Kill Your Family."
Anya Taylor-Joy is set to portray a glamorous murderer in the upcoming Netflix adaptation of Bella Mackie's best-selling novel, "How To Kill Your Family." The British-Argentine actress, known for her striking transformations for various roles, has adopted a brunette look for her part as Grace Bernard, a cunning character who embarks on a killing spree against her estranged relatives.
Taylor-Joy was recently photographed filming scenes for the dark comedy thriller in London. She was seen dressed in a Burberry trench coat, white T-shirt, denim skirt, blue ankle socks, and burgundy loafers, pulling a cabin suitcase. This contrasts sharply with her appearance just days earlier, when she was seen with long blonde hair while participating in the Dior Beauty Christmas campaign.
The series follows Grace, the illegitimate daughter of a London billionaire, who inherits a substantial fortune. However, she utilizes her inheritance to exact revenge on the family members who abandoned her and her mother, and to avenge her mother's death.
Taylor-Joy has expressed her enthusiasm for the role, stating that she felt compelled to be a part of the story after finishing the book. "As soon as I turned the last page I knew I had to be a part of bringing this story to life," she said. "I am looking forward to getting our hands even dirtier."
"How To Kill Your Family" is anticipated to be released next year. Clive Owen is also set to star in the series as Simon Artemis, Grace's billionaire father.
