Anya Taylor-Joy has offered a rare glimpse into her marriage to musician Malcolm McRae, describing their relationship as a source of security and emboldenment. In a recent interview coinciding with the promotion of her Apple TV+ series "Lucky," Taylor-Joy, 30, shared that her husband, 32, has made her feel "secure" in a way she had not previously imagined.

"To have a best friend who goes through life with you – it has given me a sense of security that I didn’t really ever dream about," Taylor-Joy said. "It wasn’t something that was on my list. Now that I have it, I just feel emboldened to take more risks because I know I’ve got something really nutritive and solid and healthy and so f*****g fun. I laugh, like, 90% of the time."

McRae, who is the vocalist and multi-instrumentalist for the musical duo SRCHR, also makes a brief acting appearance as Eric in "Lucky." The series, which premiered on Apple TV+ on July 15, follows Taylor-Joy as a con artist on the run after a heist goes awry. It has garnered mixed reviews from critics, with some praising Taylor-Joy's performance while others have found the series formulaic.

Taylor-Joy also reflected on her first producing role in "Lucky," stating her interest in the mechanics of storytelling. "I’ve always been interested in not just why something works, but how it works," she explained. "I felt like I’d been doing it [producing] for a while. It just hadn’t been part of my job title."

She added that producing taught her the importance of leadership, defining it as the ability to remain "unflappable" and find solutions rather than succumbing to panic. Taylor-Joy also cited her parents' advice, with her father's motto being "the harder I work, the luckier I'll get," and her mother's encouraging her to "be myself."

Elsewhere in the interview, Taylor-Joy commented on Taylor Swift's wedding to Travis Kelce, describing it as "wonderful."
