Anti-migrant protesters gathered in Gosport, Hampshire, on Sunday as a small boat, believed to be carrying more than 100 migrants, approached the south coast. The vessel reportedly departed from the Utah Beach area of Normandy earlier that morning and was being monitored by French rescue services before entering British waters.

The force also enacted measures under the Public Order Act, including restrictions on face coverings.
A spokesperson for the Home Office stated that the Border Security Command operates continuously to monitor the English Channel and safeguard the border. They emphasized the importance of detaining, checking, and processing every small boat arrival.
Police established a cordon on Haslar Road in Gosport. Reports indicated the presence of ambulances and coaches in the vicinity. Some protesters reportedly blocked police vehicles, chanting slogans such as "shame on you" and "deport the lot." The atmosphere at the protest was described as mostly peaceful.
