Anthony Edwards Roasts LeBron James in New Adidas Commercial Over Free Agency Decision

Anthony Edwards is playfully targeting LeBron James in a new Adidas commercial, referencing James' recent free agency decision. The Minnesota Timberwolves star joked that James' knees "couldn't handle the cold weather" as a reason for not joining the Timberwolves.

James, after a lengthy free agency period, ultimately signed a two-year, $8 million deal with the Philadelphia 76ers. This move concluded a saga that had fans and media speculating about his next destination after he informed the Lakers he would not return for a ninth consecutive season.

In the Adidas commercial promoting his third signature sneaker, Edwards quipped about James' decision. "Speaking of old school, you see where big dog ended up? He was gon’ join me in Minnesota. But I guess his knees couldn’t handle the cold weather," Edwards said. He added, "It’s cool though. We know why he really made that decision. Philly got some of the best barbers in the world. Between him and ol’ boy from Boston, they gonna have a whole lotta enhancements going on in the locker room."

The offseason speculation surrounding James, a four-time MVP and the NBA's all-time leading scorer, was a major storyline. While Miami and Cleveland were often mentioned as potential landing spots, teams like the Timberwolves and 76ers also presented new opportunities.

Despite not teaming up, it appears Edwards and James are maintaining a lighthearted dynamic ahead of the upcoming NBA season.
