Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards married his longtime girlfriend, Shannon Jackson, on July 16, according to Minnesota marriage records. The ceremony took place several months after Edwards was involved in a child support dispute with model Ayesha Howard.

Fans began speculating about the couple’s marriage status after Edwards was seen wearing a black band on his ring finger at Fanatics Fest in New York City. Edwards, 24, and Jackson, who have been publicly together since 2020, are parents to a 2-year-old daughter, Aislynn.

The NBA star's wedding follows a contentious legal battle with Howard over paternity and child support for their daughter, Aubri’ Summers, born in October 2024. The legal proceedings began in October 2024 when Edwards filed documents in Georgia to establish paternity and child support. Howard, who is also the mother of rapper Lil Baby's son, subsequently filed to have the case heard in California in February 2025.

Howard claimed in court documents that she and Edwards had spent time together in various cities during his NBA season and off-season. She stated she discovered her pregnancy in January 2024 and informed Edwards via text message. Alleged screenshots of their text exchange included Edwards' response, "Ok lol. Get da abortion lol."

In April 2025, Edwards agreed to grant Howard sole legal and physical custody of their daughter. The dispute intensified when Howard accused Edwards of hiding assets to avoid child support payments. Edwards countered these claims, alleging that Howard had orchestrated a "coordinated media campaign" to pressure him into a monetary agreement.

Throughout the child support scandal, Jackson reportedly stood by Edwards' side, attending several of his games. Edwards is also allegedly the father of two other children, a daughter named Aris and a son named Amir, born in late 2023.
