Ant Anstead offered followers a glimpse into his son Hudson’s close relationship with his girlfriend, actress Renee Zellweger, in a social media post celebrating the boy's seventh birthday. Anstead, a television presenter, shared an Instagram video on Sunday that featured several moments between Hudson and Zellweger.
One image in the montage shows Hudson wearing a crown and looking affectionately at Zellweger as she holds him. Zellweger, sporting a mini top hat and rose-tinted sunglasses, appears to be enjoying herself as she and Anstead wear matching leis. Another clip captures Zellweger and Hudson running barefoot on a beach.
Zellweger, 57, has previously spoken about her relationship with Anstead, with whom she has been for five years. In a joint interview for British Vogue, she mentioned living in Southern California near San Diego because that is where Anstead and his son reside. The couple met while working together on the show Celebrity IOU: Joyride.
In a July interview on Jeremy Vine on 5, Anstead described Zellweger as "the best human I’ve ever met" and "absolutely brilliant" and a "genius." He also shared that she was involved in the decision-making process for purchasing the 500-year-old farmhouse he was restoring for the show. Anstead noted that Zellweger is "into cars and houses."
Anstead, who was married to Christina Haack from 2018 to 2021, shares Hudson with his ex-wife. He also has two older children, Amelie and Archie, from a previous marriage. Anstead has acknowledged that the path to an amicable co-parenting relationship with Haack was challenging, stating in an episode of The Flip Off that it took four and a half years to reach a point of mutual respect. They settled their custody dispute in December 2022, agreeing to maintain joint legal and physical custody of Hudson.
