Anson Williams, 77, Inspires with Shirtless Selfie and Age-Positive Message
The 'Happy Days' actor shared a motivational message about embracing age and vitality.
Actor Anson Williams, best known for his role as Potsie Weber on the classic sitcom "Happy Days," recently shared a shirtless mirror selfie on Instagram, accompanying it with a message of empowerment for older adults. The 77-year-old actor used the post to encourage fellow baby boomers to reject age-based limitations and embrace their continued vitality.
"My yearly reminder to every Boomer: NEVER let anyone diminish us because of our age," Williams captioned the photo, which showed him flexing his biceps. "I’m 77. More creative, healthier, busier, more curious — and more alive than I was at 40."
Williams attributed his continued health and drive to his wife, Sharon MaHarry, along with "good lovin', kindness, and adventure." He advised others to practice "a little discipline," eat well, and stay active. "Mountains still worth climbing," he added, emphasizing his refusal to let his age define his worth.
The actor concluded his post with a forward-looking statement: "We didn’t come this far to become invisible. We came this far to become unstoppable. And we haven’t even played our best hand yet."
Fans responded positively to Williams's message and appearance, with many expressing admiration for his energy and motivational outlook. The comments section included remarks such as, "Way to go Potsie!!! You’re looking great Anson!" and "Looking good and inspiring people! I am taking your message to heart."
Williams starred in "Happy Days" for all 11 seasons from 1974 to 1984. In recent years, he has also pursued directing and is currently involved with the off-Broadway production "Crazy Mama: A True Story of Love and Madness."
