Annie Knight Addresses Wedding Joke Scandal and Father-in-Law's Absence
Newlywed Annie Knight clarifies a controversial wedding speech and discusses the estrangement from her husband's father.
Annie Knight, who recently married Henry Brayshaw in a $180,000 ceremony on the Gold Coast, has responded to reports about a guest's remark during a wedding speech and the absence of her father-in-law. Knight stated that the joke, which referenced her career as an adult content creator, was taken out of context and not intended maliciously.
"The person that said that was one of the emcees, a good friend of ours," Knight explained to the Daily Mail. "He is a funny guy and when he sent us his initial speech, we were like, 'You can't say any of that!' But I guess on the day he got a little bit carried away and ended up saying that one joke that didn't land."
Knight, 29, emphasized that the incident did not ruin her wedding day and that she and Henry hold no ill will towards their friend, who has expressed remorse. "At the end of the day, we love the person who made that comment. He made a mistake, he regrets it, he is very apologetic. Henry and I are very forgiving and understanding people," she said.

Regarding the absence of Henry's estranged father, AFL commentator James Brayshaw, Knight expressed sadness and wished circumstances were different. "Henry hasn't had a relationship with his dad for over three years, long before we were together. Their estrangement has nothing to do with me," she clarified. "People assume that he has decided not to be a part of Henry's life because of me, and that is just not true!"
She acknowledged that she wished Henry's father had attended for his son's sake but believed it would not have been the right time given their current relationship. The presence of Henry's mother, Sarah, and his two brothers was deeply meaningful to the couple. "That's all that matters to us, that they came and gave it 100 per cent and had nothing but love and support for us," Knight stated.

Knight expressed hope for a future reconciliation between Henry and his father and stated she would support her husband through that process. "There is a chance for Henry and his dad to reconnect one day. But right now, Henry and I are in this phase where the people in our lives are immensely sacred to us and we would do anything for them," she said.
The wedding ceremony took place at The Valley Estate in Currumbin Valley. Knight wore a simple, structured bodice wedding gown with a flowing veil, complemented by Jimmy Choo heels. Henry Brayshaw wore a classic black tuxedo. The couple exchanged vows outdoors, surrounded by family, including Knight's parents. Henry was visibly emotional during the ceremony, and they exchanged Cartier wedding rings.

Following the wedding, the couple planned a short honeymoon. Their marriage comes after navigating personal challenges, including Henry's past gambling addiction. Knight and Brayshaw became engaged in March 2025 during a trip to Los Angeles.
