Anneka Rice Welcomes Two New Grandchildren Within 10 Weeks
The 68-year-old television presenter shared her joy on Instagram, announcing the arrival of her third and fourth grandchildren.
Television presenter Anneka Rice, 68, has announced she has become a grandmother to four children after welcoming two new grandchildren within a 10-week period. Rice shared the news on Instagram, accompanied by a photo of herself holding the two youngest members of her expanding family.
"My birthday presents this year came 10 weeks apart. I'd just unwrapped the first one when another package arrived!" Rice captioned the post, expressing her delight at the new arrivals. The presenter is mother to three sons: Thomas, 37, and Joshua, 36, from her marriage to theatre producer Nick Allott, and Sam, 26, from her relationship with TV executive Tom Gutteridge.
Ten weeks prior to this announcement, Rice had revealed the arrival of her third grandchild. At that time, she shared an image with her two toddler grandchildren while holding the newborn.
In a recent interview with The Times, Rice stated that she considers herself "a granny above all" and views her grandchildren as her "reason for life." She also expressed a hope to be a good friend and mentor to others. Rice stepped away from the public eye in the mid-nineties to focus on motherhood after her divorce from Nick Allott in 1995. The decision was influenced by a letter from her ex-husband's lawyer that implied she was not a good mother due to her work commitments. Although she later viewed it as a misunderstanding, the sentiment prompted her to prioritize her role as a mother during that period of her life.
