Anne Hathaway Vanishes in Humorous Farewell After Promoting Five Films

Anne Hathaway humorously marked the conclusion of a whirlwind year promoting five films by vanishing in a puff of smoke in a video shared to Instagram. The actress, who is expecting her third child, shared the clip Friday as she headed to the premiere of her latest thriller, "Verity."

In the video, Hathaway begins to announce the release of "Verity" on October 2, stating, "And then on Oct. 3..." before disappearing in a cloud of theatrical smoke. The clip then shows a mock news report with headlines such as "Anne Hathaway simply evaporates" and "As promised, Anne Hathaway vanishes into a plume of smoke."

Accompanying the video, Hathaway wrote, "Thank you everyone for your support, and for making this an incredible, unforgettable year. Over and out @verityfilm in theaters today!"

The disappearing act follows a statement Hathaway made to Entertainment Tonight last month, where she joked she would "vanish in a plume of smoke" after concluding her promotional duties for "Verity." She also indicated she would take time off following the extensive press tour. Hathaway's other films released this year include "Mother Mary," "The Devil Wears Prada 2," "The Odyssey," and "The End of Oak Street."

Hathaway, 43, announced her pregnancy with her third child in June. She is already a mother to sons Jonathan, 10, and Jack, 6, with her husband, Adam Shulman. She referred to the pregnancy as a "buzzer beater" during an appearance on "Late Night With Seth Meyers" in July, noting that while planned, she and her husband were surprised it was successful.
