Anne Hathaway Promotes New Film 'Verity' Amid Pregnancy

Pregnant actress Anne Hathaway made a stylish appearance in New York City on Wednesday for a press day, promoting her upcoming film "Verity." The 43-year-old star was seen en route to film an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, where she showcased her baby bump in a sheer black off-the-shoulder top.

Hathaway, expecting her third child with husband Adam Shulman, paired the draped top with matching loose-fitting trousers and open-toe heels. Her look was completed with diamond earrings, onyx sunglasses, and a vibrant wine-colored pedicure and manicure.

During a recent appearance on the Talk of the Townsends podcast, Hathaway explained that her doctor advised her against participating in the interview series "Hot Ones" due to her pregnancy. The show's format involves consuming progressively spicy chicken wings, a challenge she felt would be too risky.

"I got pregnant, and my doctor said I couldn't do it because I might go into early labor," Hathaway stated. She mentioned that while filming "Verity," she was able to eat the first few wings for the camera but then switched to "dummy wings" for the rest of the segment.

"Verity," slated for release on October 2, stars Hathaway alongside Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett. The film, adapted from Colleen Hoover's novel, follows a writer hired to complete the books of a successful thriller author who has suffered a mysterious accident. While working in the author's home, the writer discovers an unfinished manuscript that hints at dark secrets.

Hathaway announced her pregnancy over the summer. Reflecting on conceiving in her 40s, she told Access Hollywood that her expectations were realistic, noting the statistical odds. "There's always hope until there's not, but when you get to a certain age, that hope looks like one percent to two percent," she said.
