Pregnant actress Anne Hathaway was seen in New York City on Tuesday, showcasing her baby bump while carrying a Bvlgari bag valued at $8,000 (£5,900). Hathaway, 43, wore a teal velour coordinated set with floral detailing and black heels.
The Serpentine Duo Top Handle bag she carried is embellished with engraved scales. Hathaway, a global brand ambassador for the Italian fashion house, confirmed her pregnancy in June.
She is married to Adam Shulman, and the couple are already parents to two sons, Jonathan and Jack. Hathaway's outing comes as she prepares for the release of her upcoming film, "Verity," which is scheduled for a theatrical debut on October 2. In the psychosexual thriller, Hathaway stars alongside Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett, portraying Verity Crawford, a successful thriller writer who becomes debilitated after a mysterious accident. The film, an adaptation of Colleen Hoover's novel, follows a writer tasked with completing Crawford's final books, uncovering dark secrets within the family estate.
Hathaway's recent prolific output includes roles in "Mother Mary," "The Devil Wears Prada 2," "The Odyssey," "The End of Oak Street," and "Verity." She announced her pregnancy earlier this year during the press tour for "The Devil Wears Prada 2." She shared the news via an Instagram reel, accompanied by the song "Baby, I'm Yours."
Speaking about becoming pregnant in her 40s, Hathaway told Access Hollywood that expectations were realistically low. "There's always hope until there's not, but when you get to a certain age, that hope looks like one percent to two percent," she said. "So we just decided to see where life took us, with a very, very healthy, realistic expectation, which was very low." She expressed joy at her pregnancy, acknowledging the fortune of experiencing parenthood, especially when desired. "We're overjoyed because we just know from personal experience that not everybody gets this, and certainly not when you want it – sometimes not ever," Hathaway stated. She also shared with People magazine in April, "I know that not everybody who wants to be a parent gets to be. I'm just blown away by how fortunate I am." She noted her previous pregnancies had gone well, calling it "really lucky."
