Vogue editor Anna Wintour and fashion designer Tom Ford shared a rare moment of amusement while attending Wimbledon.

The pair were seated together in the Royal Box on Friday, where Wintour, 76, who transitioned from her role as editor-in-chief of American Vogue in 2025, was observed laughing and engaging in conversation.

Ford, 64, appeared visibly surprised by Wintour's mirth, at one point clutching his chest as if in shock, while Wintour herself was seen with an open mouth, reacting to the events on Centre Court. They were watching British tennis player Arthur Fery compete against Germany's Alexander Zverev. Fery ultimately lost the match with a score of 7-6, 2-6, 4-6.

Wintour, known for her typically serious demeanor, was dressed in a blue floral dress and her signature sunglasses. Ford wore a black suit paired with orange-tinted, black-rimmed sunglasses.

Their decades-long friendship is well-documented, with both figures being prominent supporters of each other within the fashion industry. They were joined in the Royal Box by Australian film director Baz Luhrmann and actor George MacKay.

Wintour stepped down as editor-in-chief of American Vogue in 2025 after 37 years, following her tenure which began in 1988. Chloe Malle was named her successor. Wintour continues to serve as Condé Nast's global chief content officer and global editorial director for Vogue. In her chief content officer role, she oversees numerous publications under the Condé Nast umbrella, including Wired, Vanity Fair, and GQ, among others. She is also credited with transforming American Vogue and for her significant influence on the Met Gala.
