Anna Faris has shared insights into her 14-year-old son Jack's strong Christian faith, a conviction he shares with his father, actor Chris Pratt. Faris, however, approaches her son's beliefs with open dialogue, frequently challenging his perspectives on various religious topics.
During a recent appearance on the Dear Chelsea podcast, Faris, 49, stated that while she respects Jack's faith, she actively engages him in discussions about religious hypocrisy and controversial figures. "I'm like, 'Do you think it's a luxury that you get to be pro-life? Do you think that's kind of a luxury?' He's like, 'Maybe,'" Faris recalled, describing one such conversation. She also shared instances where she prompts him to consider the actions of "grifter" mega-pastors, to which Jack responds that they are "the worst."
Faris expressed appreciation for her son's ability to examine religion and recognize hypocrisy. "I'm appreciative that he's examining religion the way he is in terms of recognizing hypocrisy, starting to recognize hypocrisy. And I'm appreciative that we can have these long conversations," she said.
Chris Pratt, who was previously married to Faris, has spoken openly about his Christian faith. He has credited his faith with helping him through difficult times, particularly after Jack was born nine weeks premature. In a personal essay, Pratt wrote that he promised to dedicate his life to sharing God's message if Jack survived, a promise he has since fulfilled.
Faris and Pratt finalized their divorce in October 2018. Pratt later married Katherine Schwarzenegger in 2019, and they have three children together. Faris married cinematographer Michael Barrett in June 2021.
In other podcast revelations, Faris also discussed her sobriety, noting that she feels significantly better since quitting alcohol and has come to appreciate fan recognition. She also mentioned that she has started hormone replacement therapy (HRT) to manage perimenopause symptoms, which she said has made a substantial difference.
