Angelina Jolie Sells Los Angeles Mansion Amid Plans for a 'New Life'
The actress has sold her Los Feliz home for $24.75 million as her children continue to distance themselves from their father, Brad Pitt.
Angelina Jolie has sold her Los Feliz mansion for $24.75 million, a move that coincides with her stated plans to embrace a "new life" as her children increasingly adopt her surname and distance themselves from ex-husband Brad Pitt. The sale of the 11,000-square-foot estate, which Jolie purchased for approximately $24.5 million in 2017, was finalized after being on the market for five months. The actress had initially listed the property for nearly $30 million in May.
The former Cecil B. DeMille residence, built in 1913, sits on two acres and features six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. Amenities include a farmhouse-style kitchen, a library, a tea house, a wine cellar, a fitness studio, and a swimming pool with a pool house. The property offers views of the Hollywood Hills and the Griffith Observatory.
Sources close to Jolie indicate that the actress intends to leave Los Angeles now that her children are grown. While a new permanent residence has not yet been determined, she plans to divide her time globally, including between her existing home in Cambodia and other locations where her family resides. "When you have a big family, you want them to have privacy, peace, safety," Jolie previously told The Hollywood Reporter, expressing a desire to leave California once her children were older.
This shift in Jolie's living situation follows a trend among her children to legally alter their surnames. Earlier this month, their son Maddox, 25, officially dropped "Pitt" from his name, changing it to Maddox Chivan Jolie. This follows a similar legal filing by their daughter Shiloh, 20, who dropped the surname on her 18th birthday. Zahara, 21, and fraternal twins Vivienne and Knox, 18, have also informally stopped using their father's last name, with plans to formalize the change. A judge granted Maddox's name change petition on Monday, with Zahara's hearing scheduled for later this month.
Jolie and Pitt, who were together for 12 years and married for two, finalized their divorce in December 2024. The former couple remains engaged in legal disputes, notably concerning their shared French winery, Château Miraval. Pitt has accused Jolie of selling her stake to a Russian businessman without his knowledge, allegedly violating an agreement between them. Pitt has been in a relationship with jewelry designer Ines de Ramon since 2022.
