Angelina Jolie's long-held plan to leave the United States with her six children faces a significant hurdle: the continued presence of her Los Feliz mansion on the market.

Jolie's twins, Vivienne and Knox, are set to turn 18 on July 12. According to a custody agreement with ex-husband Brad Pitt, this milestone grants Jolie the legal freedom to relocate with all six of their children out of the country. However, the 11,000-square-foot estate, which Jolie first listed for nearly $30 million in early May, has yet to sell, complicating her desired departure.

A source told the Daily Mail that while Jolie is aware the market can be slow, the property's prolonged listing is frustrating. "She wants to get away from Los Angeles and her memories there with her ex Brad Pitt. It's time for a new phase in a new city with her children in tow," the insider stated. The actress has expressed a desire for a fresh start in a new city, away from the "bad memories" associated with her past in Los Angeles.

Jolie has indicated that Cambodia, specifically Battambang, is a primary destination for her. She previously shared her hope to unwind in the picturesque region, while maintaining a base in New York City for professional endeavors. Her ties to Cambodia are deep, and she has stated her heart belongs there. In New York, she has a network of friends, including ex-husband Jonny Lee Miller, and her Atelier Jolie shop.

Even if the Los Feliz house remains unsold, Jolie can still depart the U.S. with her children. The source emphasized that she has ample financial resources to relocate anywhere. However, completing the sale would offer a symbolic end to her past.

The sprawling Los Feliz property, listed for $29.85 million, was built in 1913 and designed in a Beaux-Arts style. It features six bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, and sits on two acres. Originally the residence of famed director Cecil B. DeMille, the estate boasts a swimming pool, guest house, tea house, and ornate fountains. Jolie purchased the property for $25 million in 2017, after her separation from Pitt, who owned a nearby home at the time.

Jolie first spoke of her desire to leave Los Angeles in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in August 2024, stating, "I am here because I have to be here from a divorce, but as soon as they’re 18, I’ll be able to leave." She voiced concerns about privacy, peace, and safety for her large family in the area, contrasting it with the "humanity" she has encountered globally.

Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in September 2016, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple finalized their divorce settlement in January 2017, agreeing to maintain privacy regarding their proceedings. They share children Maddox, 24, Pax, 22, Zahara, 21, Shiloh, 20, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 17. Notably, Maddox, Zahara, and Knox have reportedly dropped "Pitt" from their last names.

While Jolie has not publicly dated since her split from Pitt, the actor has reportedly moved on with jewelry executive Ines de Ramon, with whom he is said to reside in his new Los Angeles home. Pitt purchased a $12 million mansion in the Outpost Estates in August 2025.
