Angelina Jolie Plans Nomadic Lifestyle as Children Reach Adulthood
The actress is ready to travel globally for her creative collective and foundation work now that her youngest children are adults.
Angelina Jolie has expressed her desire for a more nomadic lifestyle, aiming to spend less time based in the United States and more time traveling internationally. The Oscar winner's plans come as her youngest children, twins Vivienne and Knox, have reached adulthood.
Jolie recently stated in an interview that she is experiencing "the end of a certain time" in her life and envisions a future less tied to a single location. "Out of the States more, I think," she told L’Officiel USA. "I don’t really plan to have a base. I’d like to have a home base for my family... And then I’d like to be a bit nomadic for a while."
This shift in her personal circumstances means Jolie is no longer required by her custody agreement with ex-husband Brad Pitt to remain in Los Angeles for their minor children. All six of her children with Pitt are now adults, and four have initiated legal steps to change their last name to Jolie.
Global Ambitions and Philanthropic Pursuits
Beyond personal travel, Jolie is focused on expanding her creative enterprise, Atelier Jolie, globally. She indicated that Brazil might be the first international location for the creative house. The intention is to visit various locations worldwide, connecting with local artists and makers.
Jolie also plans to return to Cambodia for more hands-on involvement with her Maddox Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to community development and conservation. She envisions her Cambodian home serving as a residency for Khmer culture for a portion of the year.
Her approach to travel emphasizes "connection and community" rather than tourism, describing it as "field work." She expressed an eagerness to "get my motorcycle back, get back in a plane."
Jolie believes her children are supportive of her desire to travel more freely now that they are older. "That’s definitely what my kids want," she said. "They had Mom when Mom needed to be Mom. Now, they’d like me to call them from Tunisia having just landed a plane to meet with local artists. I agree that would be very nice."
Recently, Jolie was seen arriving at New York City's JFK Airport on a Thursday, wearing a cream ensemble. She was also present at the New York premiere of her new film "Without Blood" on the preceding Monday, attending with her daughter Zahara. During the film premiere, she intervened to calm a crowd of fans and autograph seekers.
