Angel Carter Expecting Second Child After IVF Battle, Honors Siblings' Memory
The twin sister of the late Aaron Carter, Angel Carter, has announced she is pregnant with her second child, a boy due in March, following a challenging IVF journey.
Angel Carter, twin sister of the late pop star Aaron Carter, is expecting her second child, a baby boy due in March. She and her husband, Corey Conrad, shared the news of their expanded family after navigating a difficult path to conception, revealing that in vitro fertilization (IVF) was their only option for having another child. The couple are already parents to a seven-year-old daughter, Harper.
Carter, 38, told People that her brother, Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter, was particularly emotional upon learning they were expecting a boy. "It was such a sweet moment seeing how happy he was," she said.
The announcement comes after a period of profound loss for the Carter family. Angel's siblings Aaron, Leslie, and Bobbie Jean have all died from drug-related causes. Leslie passed away in 2012 at age 25 from an overdose. Aaron died in November 2022 at 34 from drowning, attributed to the effects of Xanax and inhaling difluoroethane. Bobbie Jean died in 2023 at 41 from a combined overdose of fentanyl and methamphetamine.
In the wake of these tragedies, Angel has become an advocate, speaking publicly about her grief and her siblings' struggles with addiction. She noted that since Aaron's death, many people have reached out to her, sharing that they have sought help through rehabilitation, therapy, or mental health support, finding solace in her openness.
Carter expressed her commitment to keeping the memory of her siblings alive for her children. "Keeping the memory of all of my siblings alive as we grow our family means creating a healthy space for our children to know who they were and understand how much they mattered to us," she stated. She hopes her children will learn from the family's experiences and see how their parents found strength in difficult times.
Aaron Carter, who had a son named Prince with his fiancée Melanie Martin, battled substance abuse throughout his adult life, leading to multiple arrests and stints in rehabilitation. He first gained fame as a child singer, releasing his debut album at age nine. His second album, "Aaron's Party (Come Get It)," achieved triple platinum status in 2000. Despite early success, his music career did not maintain the same trajectory as his brother Nick's with the Backstreet Boys. Aaron also pursued acting roles in his youth.
His personal life was often a subject of tabloid attention, including past relationships with fellow young stars Hilary Duff and Lindsay Lohan. He also participated in the 2006 reality television show "House of Carters" with some of his siblings and later competed on "Dancing with the Stars" in 2009, finishing in fifth place. By 2011, Carter had entered rehab at the Betty Ford Center.
