Andy Reid Credits Taylor Swift for Travis Kelce's Early Season Success

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid attributed Travis Kelce's impressive performance in the early part of his 14th NFL season to a combination of dedicated offseason training and motivation from his wife, Taylor Swift.

Reid commented on Kelce's fitness and performance during a press conference following the Chiefs' 33-30 overtime victory against the Indianapolis Colts. "Everybody questioned with the wedding and all of that — ‘would he be out of shape and honeymooning the whole time [in the offseason]?’ and all of that," Reid said, according to KSHB 41 News. "But he really works his rear end off and I think Taylor, you’re putting on four-hour shows, you’ve got to work hard too. So I’m sure she kicks him in the butt a little there too."

Kelce, 36, who has seen his production numbers fluctuate in the later stages of his career, demonstrated notable energy and effectiveness in the Chiefs' win. Reid added that Kelce "takes a lot of pride" in his commitment to competing and contributing to the team.

During the game against the Colts, Kelce recorded nine catches for 101 yards and a touchdown. This performance brings his season total to 12 receptions for 172 yards and one touchdown, contributing to the Chiefs' 2-0 start to the season. His play has drawn attention, with Reid having previously complimented a "svelte" Kelce, noting he appeared to be half his age during training camp in July.

Swift, who has been a visible supporter of Kelce at games, was also seen celebrating his first-quarter touchdown. She was observed in Kelce's suite at Arrowhead Stadium alongside her parents, Scott and Andrea Swift, and Kelce's parents, Donna and Ed Kelce. Swift was noted to be wearing a Kansas City Chiefs tank top from Erin Andrews' sportswear brand, WEAR, which reportedly sold out quickly after she was seen wearing it.

Swift herself underwent a demanding physical regimen for her Eras Tour, which included performing shows lasting up to four hours. According to TIME magazine, her training involved daily treadmill sessions where she would sing her entire setlist aloud, adjusting her pace for different songs.
