Comedian Andy Lee has detailed the elaborate surprise bucks party organized by his best mate Hamish Blake in anticipation of his wedding to Rebecca Harding. Lee described the event, which involved a series of challenges and a particularly memorable nude dash, during a recent appearance on Triple M's Mick in the Morning.
Blake spent months planning the celebration, which began with a ruse involving a supposed meeting at Lee's new house construction site. Around 30 of Lee's friends were hidden in the basement of the site to surprise him. Upon entering the basement, Lee found his friends dressed as different versions of himself throughout his life.
The day was structured into at least 15 distinct stages. Among the activities, Lee participated in a football kicking competition against Carlton players Jesse Motlop and Ashton Moir, facing potential punishments for losing.
The most talked-about segment involved Lee being left naked, except for a Melbourne Stars helmet, as his friends used golf clubs and balls to target him during a run across a golf course. Despite the unconventional nature of the events, Lee stated he had an excellent time.
The planning for the bucks party was complicated by the AFL finals, with both Lee's Carlton and Blake's Melbourne Demons teams making it to the postseason. Lee, however, watched the games from an hour away from the stadium.
Lee and Harding, who have been together for over a decade, are scheduled to marry in New York in October. Harding previously celebrated her upcoming nuptials with a Wuthering Heights-themed hens party in Melbourne.
In March of the previous year, the couple shared that wedding preparations had been slow, with most of their attention focused on an $8 million renovation of their heritage-listed home in Melbourne.
