Andy Cohen Says He Pays Babysitter $30/Hour, Jeff Lewis Calls It 'Cheap'
The Bravo host and his friend discussed childcare costs on Cohen's SiriusXM show.
Andy Cohen revealed he pays his babysitter $30 an hour to care for his two children, a rate that his longtime friend Jeff Lewis deemed “cheap.”
Lewis, appearing on Cohen’s SiriusXM show “Andy Cohen Live,” questioned the hourly wage after Cohen disclosed the amount. “Oh, hmm. That sounds cheap to me, especially from someone with your money,” Lewis stated, according to the Daily Mail.
Cohen, 58, corrected Lewis, explaining that the babysitter had been present for two hours and 15 minutes and received $70 in total. Lewis responded that he would likely have paid $100 for a two-hour babysitting session for two children.
Lewis, who stars in the show “Still Flipping Out,” also shared his own babysitting rate, stating that his sitter earns $37 an hour to look after his 9-year-old daughter, Monroe.
Cohen welcomed his son, Benjamin “Ben” Allen, in February 2019 via a surrogate. He later expanded his family with daughter Lucy Eve in April 2022, also through a surrogate. Cohen has previously shared that Lucy was among the first babies born via gestational surrogacy in New York.
In a separate segment on his “Radio Andy” show last year, Cohen became emotional while recounting a conversation with his son Ben. The father and son were at a playground when Ben expressed a desire to take a pill to become young again so he could spend more time with his father.
