Andy Cohen has revealed that he turned down an offer to compete on "Dancing With the Stars" many years ago, citing his inability to dance on television and a fear of public ridicule. In a recent interview with Variety, Cohen stated, "I can't dance on TV. No one wants to see that."
Cohen, who hosts Bravo's "Watch What Happens Live," described himself as a former "freeform dancer" but noted that he is now often filmed by fans dancing at Grateful Dead concerts, with those videos subsequently becoming fodder for mockery on TikTok. "Let me dance in peace," he added.
Despite Cohen's refusal, several "Real Housewives" stars have previously participated in the ABC competition. Notable contestants include Phaedra Parks, Teresa Giudice, Kenya Moore, Lisa Vanderpump, and Erika Jayne. More recently, "Vanderpump Rules" alum Ariana Madix reached the finals in a past season, and "Summer House" star Ciara Miller is set to compete in the upcoming season, which is scheduled to premiere on September 15.
Elsewhere in the interview, Cohen addressed speculation about joining the cast of "The Traitors." He indicated that he has not been asked to compete on the show and believes he would be eliminated quickly if he were asked. Cohen currently hosts the reunion specials for "The Traitors" and expressed a desire to continue in that role, suggesting that participating as a contestant would present a conflict of interest.
"The Traitors" has also featured a number of Bravo personalities across its seasons, including Miller, Parks, Kate Chastain, Tamra Judge, Mercedes Javid, Tom Sandoval, Dolores Catania, Lisa Rinna, Candiace Bassett, and Dorinda Medley. Dolores Catania was among the winners of Season 3.
