Andy and Kim Murray to Star in New Channel 4 Hotel Transformation Series

Tennis star Sir Andy Murray and his wife Kim are set to make their reality television debut in a new three-part Channel 4 series, "Our Scottish Hotel." The show will follow the couple's ambitious renovation and expansion project at their five-star luxury hotel, Cromlix.

Filmed over the course of a year, the series captures the couple's significant financial investment as they build a new wing onto the Victorian property. The Murrays purchased the 15-bedroom hotel in 2013 for £1.8 million. The hotel is situated on 34 acres near Murray's hometown of Dunblane and employs 80 staff.

Viewers will witness the hotel close for five months to accommodate the construction of the new extension, which will include two additional restaurants. Cromlix currently features 10 bedrooms and five suites, a private chapel, and a tennis court.

Kim Murray described the project as a "huge building project and a totally new direction for fine dining and wellness." She expressed enthusiasm for documenting the personal stories and discoveries made during the process, noting that working on a project together with Andy was a "fascinating process - and a learning curve." She added, "I’ve loved shaping this building and estate into what’s now become a really thriving and much-loved Scottish business."

It will see the couple, who bought the 15-bed mansion in 2013 for £1.8million, take on their biggest financial gamble yet as they build a new wing onto the Victorian property

Emily Shields, Commissioning Editor for Channel 4, highlighted the series' focus on the people behind the business. "Kim and Andy are embarking on an ambitious transformation, but at its heart this is a story about people: the team whose hard work brings Cromlix to life, and the shared desire to create something truly special," she stated.

The show is scheduled to air in December. The Murrays are reportedly hoping that the publicity from the series will help to increase visitor numbers to the hotel. Cromlix LLP filed accounts showing losses of £369,045 for the period up to March 31, 2024, an improvement from the previous year's losses of £919,572.

The series follows a trend of high-profile couples documenting their lives and businesses through reality television. The Beckhams have had multiple Netflix series, while Wayne and Coleen Rooney recently released a Disney+ show. Rebekah and Jamie Vardy also featured in their own ITV series earlier this year.
