Andrew Shue Launches Civic Initiative, Amidst Personal Milestones

Andrew Shue, former actor and now philanthropist, has been featured in the November issue of Town & Country magazine discussing his new nonpartisan civic initiative, 'The Forum.' The initiative aims to foster constructive dialogue and legislative proposals across the political spectrum, with a stated goal of setting a new tone for American politics beyond 2028.

The 59-year-old Shue, who has been actively involved in various philanthropic endeavors, described The Forum's methodology. The process begins with citizens discussing democratic concerns on the organization's website and prioritizing urgent issues. Subsequently, individuals from diverse political backgrounds convene to develop legislative proposals. The final phase involves a lottery system that selects 50 to 100 representatives from across the political spectrum to refine these proposals, with the aim of submitting them to bipartisan sponsors during the state's legislative sessions.

Currently, The Forum is operational in South Carolina, Nevada, and New Hampshire. Shue expressed his belief that the current political system is fundamentally broken and corrupt, hindering leaders from finding effective solutions. He advocates for a shift where American citizens take the lead, guiding their elected officials.

"We need something bold and different to get America out of this mess," Shue told Town & Country, emphasizing his commitment to his new mission. He acknowledged encountering skepticism but stated he has no time for cynicism, focusing instead on developing a new approach to civic engagement.

Shue's feature comes shortly after he and his fiancée, immigration attorney Marilee Fiebig, announced their engagement. This personal milestone follows the September wedding of their former spouses, TJ Holmes and Amy Robach.

Marilee Fiebig gushes over Andrew Shue's feature.

Fiebig, 48, expressed her support for Shue's initiative, sharing her pride on her Instagram Story. "So proud of this guy and the important work he's doing," she wrote.

Holmes and Robach, former co-anchors on Good Morning America, married in September, four years after their affair was revealed. The public exposure of their relationship led to their suspension from the network and subsequent divorces from their previous partners. Shue and Fiebig began dating in 2023 and announced their engagement this past spring.

"I don't know how it happened, but there's a happy ending," Shue remarked to PEOPLE regarding his engagement to Fiebig.
