New York Knicks center Andre Drummond initially posted a cryptic reaction on social media after LeBron James announced his decision to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers.
Drummond, who spent the previous two seasons with the Sixers before joining the Knicks this summer, shared a post on X, formerly Twitter, that read, "Oh" accompanied by a concerned or sad emoji. This reaction led some fans to speculate about his feelings regarding James joining a division rival.
However, Drummond quickly followed up with another post to clarify his stance, stating, "I’m good where I’m at," along with a praying-hands emoji. This suggests his initial post was not related to concern over James' move.
Drummond is expected to provide frontcourt depth for the Knicks following the departure of Mitchell Robinson. Last season, he averaged 6.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game in 19.5 minutes. The Knicks are reportedly entering the season with high expectations.
The 76ers, with the addition of James to a roster that includes Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid, are also considered a formidable contender in the Eastern Conference. The Eastern Conference as a whole is shaping up to be highly competitive, with other strong teams including the Milwaukee Bucks, Miami Heat, Boston Celtics, and Indiana Pacers.
