Archeologists in Peru have discovered an ancient tomb that has remained largely undisturbed for approximately 600 years. The burial site, located in the northern part of the country near Chan Chan, contains the remains of at least 38 individuals.

Alongside the human remains, the tomb yielded various artifacts, including metal weapons. These items are attributed to the pre-Incan Chimu civilization, a culture that thrived along the northern coast of Peru between 900 and 1470 AD.

Experts expressed surprise at the intact state of the discovery. Previous findings in the region had frequently encountered burial sites that were looted or damaged during the colonial era.
