Ana Navarro Refuses to Meet With Trump, Cites 'Cruelty'

“The View” co-host Ana Navarro declared Tuesday that she would not meet with former President Donald Trump, stating there was "no way in hell" she would accept an invitation to break bread with him.

Navarro's comments came during a discussion on the ABC daytime talk show about Trump's recent dinner with comedian Bill Maher, sports commentator Stephen A. Smith, and musician Kid Rock at the White House. While co-hosts Sara Haines and Alyssa Farah Griffin indicated they would accept such an invitation, Navarro strongly dissented.

"Hell to the no," Navarro responded. "There is no way in hell, no way in hell I would want to break bread or be in the same room with a man whose administration is hunting Latinos."

Navarro elaborated that she had no interest in meeting with Trump, asserting it would make "zero difference" to his administration's actions. She pointed to a reported decline in Latino support for Trump and characterized his administration's policies as "cruel."

"They are killing Latinos, chasing them, hunting them, racially profiling them, torturing them, sending them to places in far-off Africa. You think I’m going to go share a meal with him?" Navarro questioned.

When Haines noted that Navarro had previously met with other Republican politicians, Navarro suggested that there were alternative avenues to challenge political figures, adding, "You know who’s going to hold him accountable? The people who are going to vote in the midterm elections."

Co-hosts Sunny Hostin and Whoopi Goldberg echoed Navarro's sentiments, expressing disinterest in meeting with Trump. Hostin described Trump as the "criminal-in-chief" and criticized his actions towards various communities, including Latinos, African Americans, and the LGBTQ+ community, as "abhorrent."

Goldberg stated, "It’s not the first time he’s done it. He’s done it for years, and I cannot, in good conscience, try to reason with someone who has decided that I’m barely human."

In contrast, fellow co-host Joy Behar had previously expressed a desire for Trump to appear on "The View," telling New York Magazine, "I’d love Donald Trump to take the heat."

Kid Rock, who attended the dinner with Trump, Maher, and Smith, described the gathering as "epic" in an interview with "Fox & Friends." He noted that the diverse group of attendees engaged in meaningful conversations despite their differing political viewpoints.
