Ana Navarro Faces Criticism for Urging Viewers to Vote for Democrat in Florida Race

ABC is facing criticism after "The View" co-host Ana Navarro encouraged viewers to vote for the Democratic candidate in Florida's 27th congressional district race. Navarro, who resides in the district, expressed surprise at the tightening contest between Republican incumbent Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar and Democratic challenger Elliott Rodriguez.
Navarro noted that Salazar, who won the district by 20 points two years ago, is now in a dead-even race. She urged listeners in Coral Gables, Miami, Key Biscayne, and downtown Miami to pay attention to the race and vote for Rodriguez.
Critics, including Daily Wire opinion editor Ben Domenech and Media Research Center President David Bozell, accused Navarro of "electioneering" and questioned whether her comments violated broadcast licensing rules. Tim Young, a media fellow at the Heritage Foundation, suggested the incident should be grounds for the revocation of ABC's broadcast license.
"The View" has been under scrutiny by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regarding whether its programming qualifies as "bona fide news," which would exempt it from equal time rules for political candidates. The FCC has been engaged in a legal dispute with ABC over this matter.
Navarro has been a vocal critic of former President Donald Trump and has previously hosted at the Democratic National Convention. Neither ABC News nor the FCC responded to requests for comment from Fox News Digital.
