‘The View’ co-host Ana Navarro has lauded Hunter Biden as "riveting" and "the biggest troll" following an extensive interview for her podcast, “Bleep! with Ana Navarro.” Navarro argued that the scrutiny directed at Hunter Biden for his income from Burisma was disproportionate compared to the financial gains of the Trump family during former President Donald Trump's second term.
"The monetization of the presidency, the fact that Hunter got dragged through the coals and brought into a congressional hearing by Republicans for the money that he was making in Burisma, which is not even chump change in comparison to the billions of dollars that the Trump family has made off the presidency," Navarro stated on the ABC show’s “Behind the Table” podcast. She described this comparison as one of several "double standards" discussed during her 90-minute conversation with Biden.
Navarro expressed her interest in interviewing Biden because, she observed, "he has become the biggest troll, but he does it also with humor." She cited his response to a social media user who blamed him for cocaine discovered at the White House in July 2023, where Biden quipped, "No, I would have never forgotten my coke." The Secret Service concluded its investigation without identifying a suspect, though the FBI reportedly reopened the case in 2025.
Navarro also addressed Hunter Biden's art sales, maintaining that they underwent a vetting process. "And while his father was president, he didn’t make any money. He made money off his paintings… every painting he sold had to go through vetting, and he had been painting his entire life," she said. According to reporting by The Washington Post, ten buyers paid $1.5 million for his artwork, with Biden receiving $900,000. However, Biden's former gallerist, Georges Bergès, testified that a buyer-anonymity agreement did not take effect until September 2021, and that Biden was aware of approximately 70% of his buyers.
The White House communications director, Steven Cheung, rejected Navarro's comparison, asserting that Trump's children built successful businesses independently. Cheung stated, "President Trump’s children are extremely successful business leaders in their own right running multi-billion-dollar corporations. Hunter Biden smoked crack, banged hookers, and sold ugly paintings for hundreds of thousands of dollars. No one cares what he has to say."
In contrast, Reuters estimated in June that Trump and his sons had increased the family fortune by at least $2.3 billion through their cryptocurrency ventures since Trump returned to the White House. Trump himself has stated that he does not manage his personal finances.
Hunter Biden joined the board of Burisma in 2014, the same year his father, then-Vice President Joe Biden, was leading U.S. policy toward Ukraine. Burisma reportedly paid Hunter Biden and business associate Devon Archer $1 million each annually. Hunter Biden also sat for a closed-door House deposition in February 2024 as part of the Republican-led impeachment inquiry into his father, an inquiry for which the full House never voted on articles of impeachment.
