Ana Navarro Criticizes Prince Harry's Public Plea for Royal Reconciliation
The View co-host urges Prince Harry to handle family disputes privately, contrasting with his recent public statements.

Ana Navarro, a co-host on "The View," expressed strong disapproval of Prince Harry's recent public overtures for reconciliation with his brother, Prince William. During a discussion on the show, Navarro asserted that Harry should forgo public appeals and instead address his family issues privately.
Navarro's comments followed Prince Harry's interview with GQ, published Tuesday, in which he stated that resolving matters with his brother is of paramount importance. "I think that a lot of the problem has been exacerbated by the fact that it's been played out in public," Navarro stated on "The View." "So much of the dirty laundry has been aired out in public. Surely, they have relatives in common, friends in common."
She emphasized that the ongoing public airing of grievances has likely worsened the rift between the siblings. "I just think that if he had delivered that message privately right now, it might go further than continuing to do it publicly, because there’s been a breach of trust, and there’s been a lot of hurt on both sides," Navarro continued, advocating for private resolution rather than public declarations through interviews, tell-all books, or documentaries.
"At some point he’s going to need to pick up the phone or go see his brother and have it out," she advised.
Fellow co-host Sunny Hostin offered a different perspective, suggesting that Harry's public statements might be an indirect attempt to reach his family. "I suspect one of the reasons he is publicly saying he wants to reconcile is so that they hear it," Hostin theorized.
Whoopi Goldberg, who is familiar with Harry's memoir, "Spare," expressed optimism that the brothers would eventually reconcile. Prince Harry himself stated in the GQ interview, "I want it to work out. Of course I do," while acknowledging that "some people don’t want it to work out." He described the estrangement from his brother as something he "grieves," especially in light of global events.
The rift between the royal brothers has been a subject of public attention following a series of allegations made by Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, against the royal family. These include claims made during their 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey and in their 2022 Netflix documentary series, "Harry and Meghan." Harry's 2023 memoir, "Spare," further detailed public disagreements and even claimed a physical altercation with his brother.
Despite the familial tensions, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly returned to England with their children, Archie and Lilibet. Reports suggest their move was motivated by a desire to be closer to King Charles and to ensure their children are near their extended family. The couple recently made their first joint public appearance since their return, visiting charities in Nottingham.
