Amy Schumer recently shared a series of unfiltered bikini photos on Instagram, documenting her progress and confidence during her weight-loss journey. The images, taken during a waterside getaway, were met with positive reactions from friends and fans, including actress Kate Walsh who commented, "So beautiful, Amy. Happy and thriving."
Schumer has been open about her evolving relationship with her health and body over the past two years. In October, she posted a photo of a significant transformation, wearing a black dress and heels at a Paul McCartney concert in Las Vegas. Comedian Anjelah Johnson and actress Isla Fisher were among those who praised her appearance.
Medication and Hormone Therapy
In March 2025, Schumer discussed her experience with weight-loss medications and hormone therapy. She mentioned trying Wegovy three years prior, but experienced severe nausea and vomiting. She later consulted with MidiHealth, opting for a treatment that included Mounjaro (tirzepatide), a medication primarily used for type 2 diabetes, and hormone therapy including estrogen and progesterone. Schumer stated that this regimen helped alleviate her perimenopause symptoms. She also noted that the cost of the telehealth consultation was inexpensive.
Schumer previously shared on "The Howard Stern Show" her difficult experience with Ozempic nearly three years ago. She explained that due to a gene called GDF15, which predisposes her to nausea, she was bedridden and vomiting after taking Ozempic, despite losing 30 pounds quickly. She questioned the value of such rapid weight loss if it rendered her unable to function.
Openness About Health Challenges
Beyond her weight-loss efforts, Schumer has been candid about various health issues. In February 2024, she revealed a diagnosis of Cushing syndrome, which she viewed as a positive development because it led to the discovery of its underlying cause. She has also openly discussed living with endometriosis and underwent a hysterectomy in 2021, frequently sharing updates to destigmatize conversations around women's health.
Schumer has consistently spoken out about body image and the pressures faced by women in Hollywood. She often uses humor to address comments about her appearance and advocates for prioritizing health over unrealistic beauty standards.
