Amy Schumer recently made light of not receiving an invitation to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding. The comedian shared a humorous post on Instagram featuring a scene from her show "Life & Beth," where she and co-star Michael Cera are dressed as a bride and groom.
Schumer captioned the image, "Okay so why weren't we allowed in?" The photo showed Schumer in a wedding dress and tiara, with Cera in a groom's attire, referencing a wedding scene from the series.
This is not the first time Schumer has referenced Swift in her social media. Earlier in the week, she posted a photo to her Instagram stories that appeared to target Swift and Kelce's rehearsal dinner, using deliberately poor grammar in the caption: "Rehersal dinner was sick. Who know was she has planned for us tonight [sic]."
The wedding of Swift and Kelce took place on Friday at Madison Square Garden in New York City, with approximately 1,000 guests in attendance. The event reportedly involved extensive security measures and caused disruptions in the Midtown area, leading to public frustration among some New Yorkers.
Schumer, a native New Yorker, has a history of making jokes about Swift. In 2016, she posted a photo comparing her own physique to Swift's perceived "thigh gap" after Swift's appearance at the Grammy Awards. This led to backlash from some fans who accused Schumer of body shaming, though Schumer's representative later clarified it was a joke about Schumer's own body.
Swift and Kelce's wedding ceremony was reportedly officiated by Adam Sandler. Christian Dior Haute Couture created the wedding attire, with shoes by Christian Louboutin and jewelry by Cartier. Swift's brother, Austin Swift, served as the Man of Honor, and Travis Kelce's brother, Jason Kelce, was the Best Man. The reported cost of the nuptials is $15 million.
