Amy Schumer and Chris Fischer Finalize Divorce

Amy Schumer and chef Chris Fischer have officially finalized their divorce in New York Supreme Court, ten months after announcing their separation. The case status was listed as disposed, though the exact finalization date remains unclear as divorce cases are sealed in New York.

Page Six reported on September 25 that the comedian and Fischer were nearing the end of their divorce proceedings after submitting a proposed divorce judgment to the court. They had also submitted orders concerning support for their 7-year-old son, Gene.

Schumer, 45, filed for divorce from Fischer, 46, in January, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple, who secretly married in 2018 and welcomed their son in 2019, confirmed their separation in December 2025 via a social media post.

"Blah blah blah Chris and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage after 7 years," Schumer captioned the post. "We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son. We would appreciate people respecting our privacy at this time."

The "Trainwreck" star also addressed speculation that her weight loss journey was a factor in their split, stating, "Whatever ends up happening with me and Chris has nothing to do with weight loss or autism."

Sources indicated at the time of their separation that the split was "a long time coming." One source told Daily Mail that Schumer's career goals and her role as a mother had impacted her marriage, leading her to realize that "you can't have everything and the thing that suffered most was her marriage."

Schumer and Fischer's relationship had been the subject of speculation for years. In 2021, Fischer jokingly presented Schumer with a birthday cake that read, "I'm leaving you. This was the only way I could think to do it," which at the time was met with amusement but later fueled breakup rumors.
