Comedian Amy Schumer and estranged husband Chris Fischer have reached a divorce agreement nine months after announcing the end of their seven-year marriage.

The former couple submitted their proposed divorce judgment to the New York Supreme Court on Thursday, which has since been signed and is awaiting final processing.
Schumer, 45, announced the split in December via an Instagram post, stating that she and Fischer, also 45, had made the "difficult decision" to go their separate ways. She emphasized their continued commitment to raising their son, Gene, who is seven years old. The couple married in 2018.
Orders concerning child support for Gene were also processed as part of the agreement. Representatives for Schumer have not yet responded to requests for comment.
Schumer previously addressed speculation surrounding the divorce, denying rumors that her recent weight loss was a contributing factor. She also refuted claims that the separation was due to Fischer's professional success as a chef.
Reports in November indicated that Schumer's marriage was experiencing difficulties, with a close friend telling the Daily Mail that the comedian was "over it." At the time, Schumer had removed all photos from her Instagram, posting a single image of herself and noticeably not wearing her wedding ring.
Sources close to the couple suggested that their marriage had been distant for some time, with Fischer reportedly spending more time away from home. Friends also noted that Schumer's weight loss coincided with a shift in her personality, describing her as "lighter in her spirit" and "more easy going." The friend suggested that Fischer's autism, including his "brutal honesty," posed challenges in their relationship, particularly as Schumer's comedy often touched on their life together.
Fischer has accompanied Schumer to events over the past year, though their last red carpet appearance together was in June 2025. Schumer put two properties on the market earlier this year, fueling rumors of an impending split. Her Brooklyn townhouse, purchased in 2022, was listed for $14 million before being reduced to $12.75 million. The couple also listed a New Orleans residence they purchased together in 2021.
