Amy Robach Turned Down Major Job Offers to Stay With Fiancé T.J. Holmes
The former "Good Morning America" anchor reportedly prioritized opportunities that included Holmes, who was also ousted from ABC News.
Amy Robach, a former anchor for "Good Morning America," has reportedly turned down significant job opportunities, including a potential role at "Inside Edition," because they did not involve her fiancé, T.J. Holmes. A source told Page Six that Robach was considered the frontrunner to take over Deborah Norville's position at "Inside Edition" when Norville departs in 2025. However, the role ultimately went to Eva Pilgrim, a colleague from ABC News.
Sources indicate that Robach, 53, declined multiple offers because Holmes, 49, was not part of the proposed projects. "She wanted to do something with him," a source stated.
The couple currently co-hosts the iHeart Radio podcast "Amy & T.J.," which launched in 2023. Page Six has reached out to "Inside Edition," Robach, and Holmes for comment.
Robach and Holmes's romance became public in November 2022, when they were photographed together. At the time, both were married to other individuals: Robach to Andrew Shue and Holmes to Marilee Fiebig. Shue and Fiebig later began a relationship in 2023.
Following the public revelation of their relationship, ABC News launched an internal investigation. On December 5, 2022, both anchors were removed from the air. They did not return to their roles, and on January 27, 2023, ABC News President Kim Godwin issued a statement announcing their departure. "After several productive conversations with Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes about different options, we all agreed it's best for everyone that they move on from ABC News," the statement read, acknowledging their "talent and contributions."
In December 2023, the couple addressed the controversy on the premiere episode of their podcast. Robach described the period as "a year of hell" and stated, "We're the folks who lost the jobs we love because we love each other." Holmes clarified that while their relationship was revealed, the public perception of them being outed as "adulterers" or "cheating on our spouses" was inaccurate.
Robach and Holmes announced their engagement in September 2025. They have since applied for a marriage license in Arkansas, Holmes's home state, though they have not yet officially married.
