Amy Childs Reflects on Weight Journey with Wedding Day Bikini Photos
The reality star shared images from her wedding day, discussing her past struggles with dieting and the impact of 'skinny jabs'.
Amy Childs recently shared a series of bikini photos from her wedding day, using the occasion to reflect on her weight loss journey and past use of "skinny jabs."
In a social media post, the 36-year-old television personality showcased her physique in a white two-piece ensemble, complete with a strapless top and high-rise bottoms. She expressed gratitude for her personal trainer and nutritionist, Jon Kirk, highlighting his role in keeping her accountable and challenging her approach to nutrition.
Childs detailed a history of "yo-yo dieting" that had previously impacted her body confidence. She explained that for a long time, she believed she was dieting correctly by cutting out foods and pushing herself, but she consistently found herself returning to her starting point. This cycle left her unhappy with both her appearance and her overall well-being, as she was not managing her nutrition or energy levels effectively.
"I'd under-fuel, stress, lose a bit of weight, then it would all come back and I'd start the whole thing again," Childs wrote. "I was in that yo-yo cycle that so many of us get stuck in… that was me."
She noted that the conventional approach of "eat less, move more" was insufficient for her. Since collaborating with Kirk, Childs has adopted a more comprehensive strategy that includes understanding different phases of nutrition, mindset, and adapting her approach to her daily life. She reported improvements in her food intake, increased strength, and visible changes in her body, skin, and overall strength, including the development of muscle tissue in her shoulders.
"I feel stronger, I feel more confident and, for the first time, I don't feel like I'm stuck in that diet, lose, regain cycle anymore," she stated, emphasizing that her journey is ongoing.
Childs also disclosed her past use of "skinny jabs" earlier in the year, explaining that she tried them to address residual "baby weight" despite training and eating healthily. She described a negative experience, stating she was "so ill" after using them for two weeks.
Her mother, Julie, had a heart attack the previous year, which contributed to Childs' weight loss at that time. Childs is a mother to four children: Polly, nine, Ritchie, eight, and twins Milly and Billy, three. She tied the knot with Billy Delbosq last month.
