An American Airlines flight was forced to abort its takeoff from New York's LaGuardia Airport (LGA) on Thursday morning after a bird strike was reported, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Flight 392, a Boeing 737-800 en route to Chicago's O'Hare International Airport, was traveling at nearly 140 mph on the runway when the crew reported the incident at approximately 8:20 a.m. The FAA stated it is investigating the report to confirm whether a bird was indeed struck.

LaGuardia Airport imposed a brief ground stop following the incident. However, broader delays at the airport were primarily attributed to severe weather conditions.

No injuries were reported among the passengers or crew onboard the aircraft. Preliminary checks also indicated no visible damage to the aircraft.
