America's Top Pizzerias Crowned in New Rankings
The 50 Top Pizza 2026 report highlights a New York City establishment for the fifth consecutive year, alongside other acclaimed eateries nationwide.
The annual 50 Top Pizza rankings for 2026 have been released, celebrating the best pizzerias across the United States. For the fifth year running, Una Pizza Napoletana in New York City has secured the top spot, affirming its consistent quality and appeal.
The rankings, compiled by the Italy-based 50 Top Pizza organization, aim to identify outstanding pizza establishments. However, pizza expert Colin Caplan notes that the "best" pizza remains subjective, dependent on personal preference.
"50 Top Pizza is a very well-respected Italian-based, chef-based site that really goes and finds what they think is the best," Caplan told Fox News Digital, while also suggesting a potential bias toward styles aligned with Italian traditions, such as Neapolitan.
According to the 2026 report, the top five pizzerias in America are:
Una Pizza Napoletana — New York City
Founded in 1996 by Anthony Mangieri, this New York City pizzeria has been lauded for its dedication to the craft. Eater NY described its Margherita pizza as "a miracle of pizza development and evolution." Mangieri is noted for personally hand-making dough, shaping, topping, and baking each pizza.
Una Pizza Napoletana also ranked second in the 50 Top Pizza World 2026 list.
Pizzeria Sei — Los Angeles and Tony’s Pizza Napoletana — San Francisco (Tie for Second)
Pizzeria Sei, operated by William (Sang Woo) Joo and Jennifer So, opened in 2022 and is recognized for its Tokyo-style Neapolitan pizzas, characterized by a crimped crust technique and high-heat, quick baking.
Tony’s Pizza Napoletana in San Francisco, led by 13-time world pizza champion Tony Gemignani, also tied for second place. The establishment offers a variety of pizza styles, including Detroit, Sicilian, and New York, in addition to Neapolitan. Tony's Pizza Napoletana placed fifth in the 50 Top Pizza World 2026 ranking.
Razza — Jersey City, New Jersey
Opened in 2007 by Chef Dan Richer, Razza received a three-star review from The New York Times in 2017 and was named Best Pizza in North America by 50 Best in 2019. The pizzeria emphasizes high-quality, fresh ingredients and continuous technique improvement, with elements like bread, butter, and flour milled locally.
Truly Pizza – Dana Point, California
Founded by Donna Baldwin and John Arena, Truly Pizza focuses on fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced from local farmers. Located in Dana Point, the restaurant offers a range of artisan pizzas, both round and square, with views of the coast.
Truly Pizza also earned the No. 26 spot in the 2026 50 Top Pizza World ranking.
